Truck antenna broke off today while cleaning ice/snow. The threaded screw end of it is stuck in the socket.

Will I have to drill it out? Any other ideas (besides being more careful next time)?

If your lucky it might come out while drilling with left handed drill bit.

+1, if you're real lucky you can pick it with a small chisel if there's enough room.

Might be easier just to replace it.
Remove the base from the vehicle, cut off the cable, tie the new cable tightly to the old and pull the new through with the old.
Take a guess how I had to figure this out.

+1 I can't get a good picture in my head. I had an issue with my antenna in the Equinox. It snapped off in a car wash in the dead of winter. I ended up having to replace the antenna and the support bracket that it came with. It was under $40 for both GM pieces off rockauto but boy was it a pain to replace. Have to take inner panels and the wheel well to get access and it was still a pain.

On some trucks the cable plugs into the inside end of the base, so you can replace the base without needing to fish a new cable.
