Frantz carries the hollow Bolt I need and I have everything needed to hook my filter back up, except hose. Is there a special rating, brand to look for? Special size? There is a supply house here in Phx. That sells everything, I just need to know which one. Also, are clamps necessary? Seems that Frantz used to say no. ??? Suggestions please?

Type of hose is a matter of personal preference. I used this stuff because it is high enough pressure and temperature rating, it is as flexible as heater hose, easy to cut and work with and not real expensive. The pretty blue even looks cool. Use zip ties or hose routing to keep it away from exhaust manifold/moving parts.

I used spring clamps with the barbed fittings so I can sleep at night. Not sure if they're necessary, but they make me feel better.

If need be, Frantz also carries the hose that you need. Just order it from the same site you got your hollow bolt. And yes, you will need to clamp the hose to the fittings.

Any decent tractor shop can make you any size you want with crimped on fittings. Personally I'd use 3/8" hydraulic hose with sweep elbows

Push lock hose is my choice and what comes in the Frantz kits. As long as you use the push lock hose and correct hose barbs, hence the term push lock, there is absolutely no need for a clamp. 1/4" id is plenty large enough and 3/8" is way overkill for the flow that this setup will encounter.

On my setup I am actually using 1/8' tubing to supply the filter and 1/4" push lock for the return.
