Hello,

Below are my results from my Honda Civic on Super Tech Full Synthetic 5w/20. No oil added but did use LubeGuard additive from the start. This is my best result so far. The 15,237 mile run I used RP HPS and the 9,789 mile run was on M1 Full Synthetic.

Enjoy

All the oils did very well. My two takeaways...

1. Wow! that RP result is fantastic for 15K miles
2. Since when does Super Tech use so much Moly? And 256ppm mind you

Must be the LubeGuard.

Super Tech is good stuff.

It wasn't virgin ST. oil was it?
And which flavor of ST. Was it.
Too many variables to make such a confident statement.
That said in this instance it was stellar but I don't get B/S. Suggesting 12k next time.

Sorry, I used BIO-TECH Engine Oil Protectant. Yes, it added the Molybdenum

Who "pooh poohs" Super tech?

Thanks, it looks great. I have 5w20 ST full synthetic in our Civic now and I'm going to run it for 12-13K and send off for a UOA.

Those who hate Walmart for other reasons and trash anything Walmart sells.

I'm thinking the Lubegard helped.

Great UOA but I have no idea why they suggested 12k. It looks like 10k is a very reasonable and safe ceiling to me. And that would be with the additive since that is what you had tested. Results without it may have been quite different.

If he added Moly then it is no longer Super Synthetic. It is a frankenoil. I'm trying to find a UOA that used actual unaltered Mobil Super Synthetic, so I can see if it's any good.
