Any views/guesses on this Decathlon bike tool set?

Decathlon is a French company that doesn't seem to be very good at assessing the Taiwan market. They have had quite a lot of product lines (like bike tools) that were never going to sell here, and eventually get remaindered, presenting brief opportunities that I usually miss.

I havn't done much with bike maintenance, partly because they generally seem to need more special tools than a Citroen, but this might be an opportunity to partly address that at fairly low cost. When I was in there a while ago the kit was under a 1000NT

It gets mixed, but generally positive reviews on the UK website. The non-specialist tools in the kit are redundant, since I already have them, but the special tools would probably cost more purchased separately, which would be difficult here anyway.

Doesn't look very complete nor does it inspire quality. I'd save my money.

The cone wrenches look like stamped steel - useless.

The spoke wrench is a generic multi-size. Go buy the Park Tool in Red.

The combo wrenches are problably usable but are obvious cheap-chinese- [censored].

Chain tools, you get what you pay for. Need a quality pin on there or it'll mushroom.

Never seen a combination headset wrench and sprocket wrench. Nice idea. But you typically need TWO headset wrenches for a threaded headset.

Might be able to order them. I'd be very surprised if any bike shops are retailing them in Taiwan. There is essentially no DIY maintenance here. Taiwanese are generally completely baffled by the concept.

Do "they" know what youtube is?

1-2 hours of watching "how to do it" videos and they will be GTG

I THINK changing an entire cultural mindset might take a wee bit more than that.

You can flog a dead horse underwater, but you can't make it think.

Funny... Because yesterday I bought IceToolz cone wrenches and they are made in Taiwan (lifu bicycle Co. Ltd.)

So you are stamping bicycle tools...bicycles...but as a nation you dont "prosper" in cycling etc.

Might be worth buying, "if cheap". I bought a cheap set myself. I figured, I would replace tools as they wore out. So far, for the minor work I've done, no issues. I do keep my eyes open (when I think to look, anyhow) for better tools, like on sale or garage sales or the like. Cone wrenches are probably the best thing to buy quality for, but even then, having some cheapies around as backup isn't a bad idea (since they are not "strong" wrenches to begin with).
