I ran a 2007 MS3 from July 2007 to January 2016- a bit over 158k miles. Initially I used M1 5W-30 with a 5k mile OCI, but UOAs indicated a 7.5k mile OCI was fine- if a little conservative. To be safe I switched to M1 5W-30 EP.
The turbo was replaced pursuant to a TSB at around 25k miles, aside from that the engine had virtually no problems.

Lots of people have reported fuel dilution as a problem but in my case it was a non-issue.
