The WRX is my father's vehicle, but whenever I've driven it shifts have always been smooth and I haven't noticed any chatter/noise. It has had Maxlife since at least 120k.
1938 Chevrolet Coupe streetrod, 400 SBC, TH350 auto, RWD
Out: not sure, old filter and pan gasket
In: 5 1/2 qts Napa dex/merc, Napa filter and rubber pan gasket
2006 Grand Caravan 3.8 liter V6 with a little less than 140k miles. Transmission flush by removing transmission cooler hose. 9-10 quarts added. It is very easy to do on this van.
Out with whatever the mechanic used 60,000 miles ago and in with Amsoil signature series ATF. Full fluid exchange.
I figure at this mileage, this is the last time no matter what happens from here.
Wanted the SS fluid for towing the travel trailer. Upgraded from the 7-row cooler to the larger factory 11-row cooler at the same time. Hoping to see a noticeable reduction in transmission temps.
OUT: Approximately 5.5 Quarts of Valvoline MaxLife / Whatever else was in there prior to the last change. It was overfilled by quite a bit. Purple-y Gray colored.
IN: 1 Gal + ~6oz Valvoline MaxLife. Finally filled to the proper level - About 1/8" under the "Max full when hot" line, when hot.
2007 4Runner V6 (151k)
3rd drain and fill with Maxlife ATF (140k, 145k, 151k). WS/Maxlife mixture out. Black with a slight red hint
3.5 qts in.
2011 Rav4 4cyl (84k)
1st drain and fill was done at 60k with WS.
Took 3.25 qts out (came out blaacckk, but no burnt smell) and filled with Maxlife ATF.
Sadly, it looks like my 2 Walmart's will not longer be carrying Maxlife ATF. I grabbed the last 2 on clearance.

The 1st D/F came out dark but it just smelled like used ATF. I don't believe the 1st owner ever towed or off roaded the truck, it's just been a mall crawler so I'm sure that helped the "lifetime" WS.
