For decades I have kept detailed fillup information for all our cars (and forced the family to do that too!) . Here are actual 365-day fuel-usage numbers for four of our cars:
2013 Toyota RAV4, odometer 63,000 mi
-- Used 760.559 US gallons to go 19,364.113 miles.
-- That's 25.46 mpg.
The vehicle's on-board mileage counter (which gives the number in Metric) says the equivalent of 25.848 mpg.
2015 Toyota Corolla, odometer 15,400 mi
-- Used 393.149 gallons to go 12,146.315 miles
-- That's 30.89 mpg
The vehicle's on-board mileage counter says the equivalent of 34.089 mpg.
1999 Toyota Tercel, odometer 207,000 mi
-- Used 439.103 gallons to go 12,620.111 miles
-- That's 28.74 mpg
1991 Acura Integra, odometer 414,300 miles (yes, not a typo!)
-- Used 685.313 gallons to go 19,165.262 miles
-- That's 27.97 mpg
This is for the car's last year with me, 2012-2013.
