The Russians love them, even though for the price of a Suburban, a well-heeled Moscovite can buy a Range Rover/Mercedes GLS or GLE(the former GL and ML-Class)/BMW X5 but nothing, not even the vaunted Land Cruiser/Lexus LX has the on-road presence of a Tahoe or Suburban.

Supposedly the prime minister of Cambodia has a fleet of Tahoes and Suburbans, GM sells a Daewoo/Suzuki/Isuzu-based product line in Southeast Asia but I'm sure the PM sends his men to Australia or the US to get parts for them. GM sold a Holden-badged Suburban and a few GMT400s made it there as grey market imports.

GM isn't doing too hot in law enforcement besides the Tahoe 9C1, once the Holden factory in Australia shuts down no Caprice PPVs. The Impala never really caught on in CA. Maybe if GM can sell a cop car based on the Cadillac XTS/CTS platform as a dedicated patrol car maybe...

Lol for what? American roads? Maybe. For UN mission etc. there is nothing that comes close to Toyota.
When I worked for NATO only thing that was reliable were Toyota's and Nissan patrols with inline six diesel. American cars would die at first inclination of -10 celsius.
You could run LC diesel on oil that is used to cool off big electric power transformation unites. When U.S. embassy needed to get to some remore villages they would drive in Tahoe or Suburbans, and go with us in LC.

Some 'Murican brands aren't even made 'n 'Murica..

Toyota on the other hand makes their Tundra and Tacoma in Texas.

As far as Toyota not comparing, check the resale (or even upfront) value of a Tacoma vs. an F150 or Silverado.

My house abutts an executive neighborhood with 25 homes. 10 families drive Suburbans/Yukon XL and there are 2 Sequoias. Big SUVs are not dead but this a narrow demographic of families.

Only America thinks diesel gate was a bad thing - nobody else cares. Because the rest of the world is a bigger market than America, the company won't suffer.

You like Toyota trucks and don't like Toyota cars but can't understand why someone can feel the same way on GM and Ford.
You like to throw your opinions about the USA around often - why did you leave your country ?

BTW - Nissan Patrol left 4 of us on side of the road in Namibia - we only needed it for four days ...
Was in Angola a few weeks back - the military uses GMC trucks ...

Lol, what opinion about brands has to with that? There are American cars I like (Mustang, Corvette, Viper) but comparing IMO any truck with Toyota Hilux is bit of a stretch. In the end since when love for a country equals opinion about cars, roads? Man, we need to question then patriotism of executives that bankrupt Chrysler and GM. If you are throwing that question to me, then maybe they are up for electric chair?

By the way, what are you? Native American?

So a bunch of third world country guerillas or terrorists, that at best have a chance of owning a a goat, or two in their lifetime, drive around in Toyota trucks and that is now considered proof of superiority?

I think you are seriously underestimating third world countries, but in a lot of those countries there are no generous warranties, trade in deals etc. and you drive what really works.

Other countries do care, but no one cares as much as the North American media.

There was sufficient crying up here in Canada, too. It's funny how few of these hard-done-by TDI owners are listing them for sale online at any price, much less at a reduced price. They must all be taking them to the wrecker to ensure they're doing their part for the environment.

So awesome how often you start with LOL before your endless bias ...
Not Indian - Eastern European decent American - I travel all over the world and have driven 4x4 Toyota/Rover to 7 series.
I work a high income group - lots of them have BMW (and loaner cars). My boss/wife are ex BMW -got sick of time at the dealer - they now have AMG550, Shelby (800 HP) and a GMC Denali 2500 4x4 diesel.(all black) But most people here are farmers, ranchers, oilfield ... and Ford trucks rule. Mostly F250/350. Driving around today several F250 and Tahoe - brand new paper tag. We are not foolish LOL like you think ... many of the cars here are Honda and Toyota. Lots vehicles are out getting dirty for a living. Toyota does not sell anything the local CAT dealer can use. They need to bring HD series to sell here.
Anyway- you can't deal with Toyota is better than VW - but everyone else has to think they dominate trucks? - heck, even the foreign car loving magazines put Tundra last over and over- it just has not taken hold in theses parts like the Taco has in small trucks...
My stuff is not breaking down - and yours is not. Leave it at that and heckle the "appliance" crowd some more.
Oh, only spotted one Audi - it was at ASE shop - must be out of warranty - my sister would not be surprised ...

Wait, when did I mentioned Tundra? I a talking about Hilux! Actually, I agree with you, I would buy American truck over Tundra (not to mention that failures Ridgeline or Titan) anytime. But Hilux?

That's a pretty true statement - GM used the Aveo as for the debut of the An American Revolution ad campaign - that was built in Korea, just like its successor Chevy Spark.

However, I feel GM and Ford now have a better understanding of "world car" - the Contour, USDM Escort, the first 2 iterations of the Focus, the Aveo/Cobalt and the old school Chevy Chevette/Pontiac T1000 amongst a few were insults to new car buyers. I was in a Cruze, Volt, new Focus and Fusion and it felt like GM and Ford can build a car that can play with the benchmarks in their classes.

OTOH, the USDM Camry/Corolla and Civic/Accord I think feel "porky" and cheapened out - Honda does make 2 different Civics, and their operations in Ohio is a good chunk of their R&D. Toyota does sell a different Corolla in Japan, we did get the wagon as a Scion.

2020 will be the start of made in Mexico Corolla's for North American market ...

US companies need to get back thinning the herd like GM did - (who needs to thin more were not for CAFE) ...
Semi big 3 FC for example - they should produce two Jeep products and focus on making those better.
90% of the folks on this site can name those two Jeeps.

100%
I do like the, not-for-domestic-market Ford Ranger though.
