Now I'm back to 10w-30 using Valvoline Synpower. I didn't notice anything different while running the Rotella 5w40 so I figured just to go back to manufacturer's specifications. Mower is running great.

Now I'm back to 10w-30 using Valvoline Synpower. I didn't notice anything different while running the Rotella 5w40 so I figured just to go back to manufacturer's specifications. Mower is running great.
I just put M1 0W-40 in my 2 yo Honda four stroke. An air cooled four stroke with no oil filter, I figure it could use the tougher film strength and higher loading levels of anti-wear additives. When you change oil at recommended intervals on this mower, it looks like [censored]. If this came out of my car I'd be really worried.
