Back in high school I had a 1980 GMC K25 with a 350 that leaked everywhere. Instead of changing the oil pan gasket I just ran Valvoline racing 50wt =). My buddy also had a 1988 Jeep Cherokee that had low oil pressure. That got Kendall nitro 70wt lol.

20w50 as per the owner's manual is all my car has seen for most of it's life.
Might try some Penrite 15W-60 or 20W-60 in the future just to try.
Nothing compared to some guys Down Under who have used 40W-70 oils!!!.

20W-50 in an old Mazda/Mercury 1.6L that called for it in summer. 10W-40 was the overall preferred oil in cooler temps...

I also used 15W-50 Mobil 1 in an older Accord...

Castrol RS 10W-60

The best part was listening to the crankshaft struggle to churn that goop in -30C temps with no block heater.

To this day I'm still amazed at the abuse that car took....and kept going!

20W-50 Exxon Superflo in a 1978 Cadillac Sedan DeVille 425 c.i. (7.0L) V8.
Engine ran smoother and got better gas mileage as opposed to 10W-30.
