Besides the factory equipment like lug wrench, jack, and spare, what else do you carry?
I have a tow strap, folding entrenchment shovel and a hatchet. A roll of gorilla tape is usually in the spare well too. Should add a selection of zip ties. Always carry jumper cables.
Thinking of adding a VAIR compressor soon. One of the newer lithium jump packs would be another good addition.
I'm not usually too far out, so I don't carry tools regularly. With a cell phone and charger in the car it seems a bit much. Besides trimming a tool kit down for compactness always seemed to mean you'd never likely have a tool you really need when the time comes. I can always call a family member or tow truck if it comes to that.
Just remembered that my dad had a space blanket in his glove box for years in case of emergency.
So any preppers out there with a duffel kit or such they want to share? As a former scout, I do believe in being prepared, so ideas on essentials for emergency would be appreciated. I should have a first aid kit of sorts, that is a tough one though. Simple little ones are quite lacking, and keep in a better one stocked in date is easy to let slide. Also compromise usefulness vs size is an issue.
Thoughts?
