How how can engines be expected to run?

Oil/air...it's a "recycled" fluid cooler from an old concrete mixer truck. Unfortunately, the area behind the grille looks like a Dagwood sandwich, with that, the trans cooler, the intercooler, the radiator, and the A/C condenser.

Highest temp I recall was close to 400 degrees (pinned the gauge past 350) was from a high-speed (90+) run in hilly terrain, in 97-degree heat with the A/C on. (That was just before we replaced the old oil cooler with the big one we have now.) In the staging beams at the drags, it also tops 300 degrees even with the cooler...heavy load on the engine with no airflow through the grille.
