False statement at 2:09 about the efficiency rating all being the same. Guy should do more research before making such a statement. The WIX XP is much worse efficiency than the others.

Comment on inlet holes at 2:45 is nebulous because the number of holes doesn't matter, but the total inlet area which he doesn't address.

At time 4:00 he's wrong about the bypass valves. They all have a coil spring bypass valve. The stamped metal he's referring to is not for the bypass valve, but to keep the components inside the can all tight and together.

At time 9:45 he says the cellulose in the K&N if for high flow rate, but I highly doubt that media flows better than a full synthetic media.

At time 10:20 & 10:27 ... "AM Soil".

ZOS: the XP effiency should not hurt when used for a remote trans filter - that's just partial flow, right ?

Probably fine for a remote transmission filter, especially if there wasn't one to begin with (something better than nothing).

The higher the flow through the media, the less filtering the media is doing, unless the overall area is increased. No media whatsoever would make a very high flow "filter".

You want some flow restriction because the fluid is going through filter media, and you want to minimize flow restriction due to tight bends, routing of lines, type of fitting, restrictions in internal passage diameter, etc.

Didn't watch or listen to much of it, just looked at the dissections mostly. Quite frankly imo the guy was doomed to a FAIL here(bitog) for many without accurate authoritative information on efficiency. However reading posts here on other filters like the made China jobbers with no published efficiency rating, some/many here say they 'look' good too. The topic filters are upper tier though so efficiency more priority to some than a jobber tier filter.

What stood out to me was the high end Champ made Royal Purple and M1 both with a louvered center tube. And the now obligatory, oh the humanity!

Almost all of the filter comparisons on YouTube fail in the same way. They look at construction and appearance only and leave out the most vital statistic... How well does it filter and at what micron rating.

Not only that, but the guy didn't really know the difference between a bypass valve spring and the leaf spring used to hold the guts of the filter tight inside the can.
