A friend of mine has a restored 66 Caddy and he wants to flush the coolant and refill with proper stuff. I have no idea what the car currently has in the cooling system. So, what do you all recommend for a coolant type? I was thinking of just using the all makes and models coolant and be done with it.

Old school green, or a nitrite-free OAT coolant that has a molybdate inhibitor package.

We use Rotella ELC in the closed-cooled boats, since they have so much brass and solder in their cooling system.

Otherwise, modern coolants have nothing going on to protect brass, copper, and solder.

Use the same thing in my older lift trucks because of their giant brass/copper radiators.

I you did that 30 years ago, the green stuff worked with all makes, not anymore...

Old school green, for sure.
A drain bolt in each of the V's to flush the block.
There may or may not be a vent near the thermostat, depending on the engine.
Be sure to get all that air out. Those V8s run hot..
Turn up the radio.

I'm pretty sure Zerex Original Green and Peak Conventional Green antifreeze are appropriate for your application.
