Just got a Shuffle for my son. We've been having difficulty messing with it,but now, we got it started to sync with Itunes. It's been doing this for the past half hour. Does it really take this long to sync?
Ipod Shuffle is stuck on sync mode with Itunes....

Did you select Autofill and have "Automatically convert songs to 128kbps AAC" option on? I can see why it's taking long especially if the auto convert option is selected. If you have large high bitrate mp3's or AAC's itunes will convert it to a smaller file to fit more into the shuffle.
On next sync I would select "Manually manage songs on this ipod" and unselect the auto-convert option so you can drag and drop songs and have it quickly sync songs without converting the file.
