Isn't this sort of automation pretty common in the auto industry?

*FANUC did have a pretty cool setup at the International Manufacturing and Trade Show this year. Apparently they make robots and operating systems too? Didn't know this until I learned a few machines at work are running them. Very interesting stuff.

I would agree with that. They take whoever wants to go at work every other year to Chicago (since IMTS is in Europe every other year. I did not know this.) and all the guys told me there was way too much going on to see everything in our time we had. We were there for 6 hours and not one person saw "everything."

i take it you saw the corvette "dance" too....
 
Never did see it. Time was of the essence.

I described it moving around as basically a pancake on a spatula.
