That is basically called Penetrox. It is used when bonding disimiliar metals to prevent galvonic corrosion. Used in electrical panels where aluminum wiring is joined to another metal, copper etc.

That terminal is exposed to the elements practically under the vehicle, right?

If so, Id look for a hardening or semi-hardeining waxy protectant after putting a thin layer of dielectric or a metal-bearing anti-seize on the threaded terminal itself.

CRC, LPS, Amsoil, Eastwood, plenty of others sell them.
 
There used to be an aerosol grease called "No Crode", meant for battery and starter terminals. Don't know if it's still available.

After working with -48 DC in my phone career, I learned a few things. Grease applied to connections is displaced where it contacts. We used stuff that was mostly Vaseline. I use whatever is in the grease gun. I use it on brake line couplings too.
