2004 Chevy Aveo- Auto 1.6L

This is my mothers back up car.
Is this a Korean thing or am I stuck in the 70-80's

Her turn signal light in the back burned out and the blinkers inside function normally.
I usually have new cars so its been awhile. Whatever happened to the inside blinkers freezing to tell you a bulb was out?

I wouldn't expect it on an aveo but you might not have a thermal blinker; the Body Control Module might run it.

This lets them do fun stuff like blink the lights when you lock it or have the bulb on that corner only (!) blink when you do a TPMS reset.

I've seen some newer cars blink real fast when a bulb is out.
