Forum skin not loading

This has been happening since yesterday. Half the time when I navigate to another sub-forum or another thread, the skin/graphics will not load, and all I get is text. This is happening on multiple devices and multiple browsers.

BTW, I'm using the BITOG-Gray skin, if that matters.

I had the same with BITOG-Red, but it seems to be sorted now.

Had that happen on Google Chrome yesterday too. I had to change the forums bookmark, and everything was fine after that. The original bookmark was causing an insecure content shield icon warning in the address bar by Google Chrome because of unsafe scripts. I was also getting the shield warning in the forums for a bit. I see that bitog is now https. Does that have something to do with it?

I'm still having this issue today, and I am not using bookmarks. I can navigate to the forum directly from bobistheoilguy.com main page, and still have the issue.

Clear your cookies, delete the old bookmark, and then from that messed up webpage, click on forums, and then save the Forums bookmark. That's how I did it, and it is working fine now.

I'm having the issue off and on, also I can't seem to get any of the articles to load. I'm guessing it's the switch to HTTPS and not all the links are correct

Again, I do not have a bookmark. I go in directly from the main BITOG website.

But here is the thing: the link to the main forum page is:
https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forum_summary

If I try to load that, I get no graphics. But if I remove "https://" from the link, then it loads correctly.

All,

We are in the process of switching the site over to being served with SSL, instead of unencrypted http. We are having an issue with some of the .css files still being served as http, so until we figure that issue out we have reverted to http. If you clear your browser cache, the no-css problem will go away.

Yeah, I had that problem a few times yesterday - Firefox.

It only appears to me when I go to the main bobistheoilguy.com page, and then hit forums. If I go to log in or hit forums a second time on the messy page, all goes back normal.

I had that yesterday after a Windows update
look at my screen capture- the Top left you will see the star- then the book, then a box with a shield- click the shield and it will ask you if you want to see all info even unsecured- click yes and its back to normal... HTH

The link from the main page to the forums tries to load in https which gives you that text wall.

if you click it again from the actual forums it ditches the https and works fine.

so basically a bad link from www.bobistheoilguy.com to the forums.

and the bad link is due to the https not working?

Changing the forum bookmark worked for me too.

Issue seems actually fixed now actual forum being served in https/ssl

I believe the problems with .css loading are now behind us.
