Does anyone know what standard the 1991 Audi 200 Turbo Automatic gas engine uses?

Thanks for the info. Where did you find that out?Ive looked everywhere online. Are all cars before 2005, 502 00?

Im pretty sure the standard gasoline spec is 502 for gas,505, 507 for diesel. Just pick up some 5w-40 Valvoline or Castrol and it will love it. Meets 502,505. http://www.oilspecifications.org/volkswagen.php

I had one of those. It was just API SJ. You certainly can use an A3/B4 oil, but that wasn't what was specified, much less a proprietary VW/Audi specification. Here's a copy of the oil chart from the manual:

None of these specs existed in 1991. Personally I'd be OK running any ACEA A3/B4 rated oil in it.
