Very strong TBN retention from 7.0 to 3.1 over 7500 mi in 1.8 Jetta.
I really like this C3 overall #s.

Splitting hairs but thanks.

60/40 highway/city split with 50% of the city portion being idling in traffic.
87 octane shell or bp.
I drive like a grandma 80% of the time.

Looks like a great wearing engine! The girlfriend has the same car and currently gets 10k OCI at the dealer.

The UOA results might be good, but this oil has no Moly, no Boron and not much Zinz anti wear additives.
It does not even have much in the way of detergent additives.

So? It seems to be working.

Yet it meets some of the most stringent mfg specs out there, including:
MB-Approval 229.31 and 229.51
BMW LongLife 04
VW/Audi 502.00/505.00/505.01

So the elements you mention must not be all that critical. Modern oil chemistries are such that a $30 UOA does not necessarily reveal it.

So true. The reading of the Blackstone VOA/UOA tea leaves to predict the future performance of an oil is amusing, and it happens all the time on here.

Right. Oil analysis has not been keeping up with engine oil technology. They check for the same basic indicators forever now.

If they are organic compounds that would be much more difficult and expensive to analyze.

That's too simplistic an approach .... which is flawed , IMO.

. Where did you purchase?

Amazon, seems to be the only place I've found with good pricing. Oh, buy the 12 pack. Best value.
