Login only lasts several days; Why?

Everytime I login I check the "stay logged in" button, but every few days I have to login again.
Is this normal on this forum?

Can you use a password manager? Or use the Chrome browser which has one built in?

For me it's once a week, because that's how long the BITOG cookie lives.

I have one - doesn't help. Still have to re-login. I'm guessing it expires to prevents bots and other ne'er-do-wells from staying logged forever.

That's normal, done that way on purpose. Something to do with the fact that bitog is so big and has so many users that it affects performance, or something like that.
