Most people should not be messing with A/C oil unless they have proper equipment to properly service the A/C. If your just adding a can of R-134A then no need to add any oil.

Oil qty has a far greater performance impact than oil type. As quoted above, use the oil the compressor manufacturer specifies because they really do know best. It's all about proper lubrication and seal compatibility. Also, it's actually very difficult to fully change unless you have a recirculating flush machine, and very few people have those. Get the refrigerant compatibility wrong and you get sludge and/or acid and it becomes a very expensive repair.

Not really something to be futzing with unless you really have nothing better to do, money for tools and time to make sure you get the compatibility right.

Just like there are fewer posts on ATF or diff lubes than motor oil, and even fewer on PSF and brake fluid... The AC system is about the most closed and isolated system in a vehicle. That plus some very bad side effects if moisture or the wrong refrigerant mixes with the wrong oil... Or the wrong oil is mixed with another... And it means you need to be VERY careful...
