I can agree with the temperature not being cold here. But I was told it might be to heavy to pump... but I like the idea of t6 being full synthetic and that the Fiero being a mid engine and no overdrive turning 3000 to do 60 mph that it can't be a bad thing....

Rotella T6 5W-40 will pump nicely down to something like -25*C... Does that ever happen in your neck of the woods?

And below that just fine, too.

Take a look at Valvoline VR1 10W-30. It's rated SG API 1988 to 1993. Thinking about using it in my GM 3.1 if I can get it for a decent price. They claim to be using a new type of zinc/phosphorous that maintains the previous high levels of wear protection while reducing the impact on the emission system.

The Quakerstate Defy SN still has quite a bit of zinc in it. I just did a UOA on it and it was at 922 PPM. I think I had the first UOA of it I have seen posted on here. It looked to have a really good additive pack and I would not hesitate to run it again.

I don't know that this Chevy Citation motor is all that demanding.
In your area with your use, I'd recommend any HDEO 10W-30 once a year.
This isn't a Ferrari or even a BMW or Benz.
It's the same engine we had in mom's '80 Citation that I bought from my parents at around 60K for NADA value (about nothing) and used for another IDK how many miles. Ran like a scalded dog in the Citation and delivered decent fuel economy as well.
What I'm trying to say is that this isn't all that much of an engine that it needs anything really special in an oil, especially at 3K miles each year.
I don't recall what I used in our beast, but it would have been a 10W-40 at the time, since that's what I used in everything up through the late nineties.

Thanks for all the input. For the price I think I will go with the Rotella T6 as I also use that in my generator and lawn equipment. After I do a reseal on the motor I may switch to Amsoil Zrod or signature.
