As with metal you have metallurgy. What is the word for the study of plastic compounds?
I find all the factors neat with how you make a material. Like steel can be a coil or leaf spring or it can flex and tpreturn to its original shape or you can make it stiff and resist any movement or bending. There are many other adjectives or criteria to describe it but it is all pretty cool.
I do assume that the differering compounds of plastics have scientific names and not cool names like polyurethane nylon, or like the metals do with steel, iron, carbon, etc.
