Very true. That's why quick radio controlled RC cars look so fast, but are really only 30MPH.

On my Cessna flight home on Thursday, there were 4 F-15's offshore "playing" rather nearby. Not only did they look fast, they made my 175MPH look like a joke, and I felt like I was flying a 5MPH JD tractor. Always impressive to watch them up close, as the vapor condenses off the wingtips during high G pull-up's.

Before the Super Bowl, Fresno ANG was practicing intercepting with CAP's 172s. Top speed of a 172 is near stall speed for a F-15 making them difficult to intercept.

With a tailwind or about 182MPH at low altitude/full power. Normally 165MPH or about 143Kts in cruise.
