The van has 138,000 miles. We live in the country so we have to drive 10 miles just to get anywhere and my wife drives just over 20 miles to get to work. Plus we have a small AWD vehicle we drive in the winter as my wife has to get to work before they always get the roads plowed.

Hi,

Which engine do you have in the van? Mine is the 3.8 liter engine. I probably fall in the severe duty category which is 3,000 mile oil changes. I am thinking of longer changes but do not know much about these engines and how hard they are on oil.

I use chevron 5w20 or similar. Any recommendations for a longer oil change interval for the severe category?

Oil has thickened to xW30 grade?
Any comments on significance of sulfation;nitration and oxidation numbers above ?

Yes, it looks like a 30 grade viscosity to me.
