I was approached several years ago by a down and out looking guy who said he needed money for a (city) bus ticket. I wasn't going to give him money because I suspected it would end up somewhere else, but I had another bus ticket. So I gave it to him.

A few minutes later one of my colleagues walked up and asked if I had seen that guy trying to sell a bus ticket!
