Hello,

Any ideas what ATF I should be using? It's 8 Speed transmission by Aisin... TR-80SD I believe ...

Type IV
Type WS
OEM - VAG ?

Amsoil says use OEM
Redline says use OEM

Castrol Euro site says: CASTROL ATF MULTIVEHICLE - not sure if this is same formulation as US one.

Liquid Moly says TOP TEC ATF 1800 but then it says developed for ZF transmissions

Ravenol says: their T IV or WS but aren't they totally different fluids ..

I'm pretty confused as you see

Thx guys

Manual says nothing .. It's "lifetime fill"

The bottle that I bought at dealer was VAG branded G-055-540-A2 Madd in Canada... for VAG does not say by who...

From everything that I can see proper fluid is the WS
The fluids referenced above were probably used on previous generation ... not 8 Speeds

Looks like OEM Aisin WS fluids are around 10/qt so that's pretty good ...

Has anyone used the Aisin branded fluids ?

Searching for transmission name does not yield any results

I would use the Liqui Moly oil, BUT send them an e mail as a cross check and make 100% sure you use the US page of the LM web site and enter the correct engine code.

Since car is "german" I would use german LM page
