Looks like the M1 is doing its job.

Can't help but notice the additive package changes over the past 7 yrs. Castrol used to be a high sodium oil. Then switched to high magnesium. And now is back to high calcium like the Sopus oils. M1 used to be a high calcium oil and then shifted to high magnesium.

Thanks. I normally stick with M1, Pennzoil Platinum, Castrol Edge for my vehicles.. Happy with anyone of the 3..

Not consedering to extend OCI further ?

Castrol GTX did contain Sodium based additives, but the newer Edge does not, as far as I'm aware. I don't like Sodium add's as they can mask a coolant leak in UOA terms.

This UOA result is interesting, because if you assume the block is in the same condition as the last OCI and has not been subject to extended run in factors (Unlikely) and that the driver style and average trip profile has not changed, this engine seems to prefer the present 5w20. About the only difference is that the present M1 uses more Magnesium based detergents.

10K miles looks possible if the OP wants to extend the OCI!

The only issue is that since I'm in the Northeast, I do not want to be changing oil at some point in the middle of winter!! So my target months are May and November, before the heat and cold!
