The FIAP pump on my 5hp Generac washer is informally referred to as the "one season wonder" in the trade. Mine is about 10 yrs old and has run an estimated 100 total hours. Unfortunately due to a cracked housing due to frozen water (should have trained my relative more thoroughly) its life has ended.
Decided to do a teardown inspection. This is a 3-piston wobble plate style pump. All moving parts were in like new condition, including the "shoes" that run against the wobble plate and the plate itself. Run with Mobil 1 15W50 motor oil originally and changed once 5 yrs ago. About 3.5 ounces total.
