So I know up to a few years ago the MSDS for Bardahl B1/B2 showed a quantity of lead. I picked up some B2 to put in my [censored] Jeep Compass just for the 'ell of it and when I looked up the MSDS for the apparently new formulation I was surprised that lead wasn't in it anymore. Anyone know when or why it was removed?

Yup, I saw that too, and found it interesting.

I suspect environmental concerns have taken it out, similar to chlorine compounds.

That said, the new formula looks great - Esters, antimony....don't remember everything in it, but it looked like a good mix, IMHO.

Lead is taboo which is why it got the boot. You're right the new formula looks pretty good. I'd love to see a few UOA's with it in the sump.
