60/40 Atifreeze/Water Ratio too strong or OK

Here for comparison is a chart showing boiling point. Also included shows what happens to the heat transfer capability as the concentration of coolant increases.

The specific coolant you use should indicate a minimum and a maximum concentration. Anywhere in that range (as dictated by your climate) will not cause a problem.

60% coolant should work fine, but I would go 50/50 if I were you. I ran 40% coolant / 60% water in my old s10, parked it for 2 days in temps that were 4 degrees F, popped the hood before starting it up, the coolant in the overflow was in liquid form, truck started up and I drove 3 hours back home zero issues. It had supertech all makes all models in it
