oil for BMW X5 35d

The DPF, SCR and EGR fell off, with ECU upgrade.
I was thinking after my D1 LE 5W30 runs out to use M1 0W40.
MPG has gone up almost exactly 10%, now has +40 hp and +60 ft-lb, kind of like a rocket despite >5000 lb.

Yup, either M1 0w-40 or Castrol 0w-40 would work and is readily available.

How much was it? does it smoke a lot?
Anyway, considering you are in Alaska, I would go with Castrol 0W40. I found it better in cold then M1.
