true no one seems to sell dense at least not the common retailers. have to go online

And here, the online retailers that sell Denso are pretty rare (and expensive) in comparison to the USA.

iirc, Toyota air filters are multi-layered, I think 3 different layers from coarse to a fine filter.

Mann, isn't, unless you get the cold weather filter if it is available, then it would have a layer of foam glued to the bottom.
