I was just there getting a rotation and free under warranty nail flat repair. The service you get with tire purchase at Les Schwab is hard to beat.

RIP Les Schwab

Not sure why one would buy anything but the basic, made in USA Milton. Easy to use, no batteries or other active components, will last forever, etc.

Have had this same one for a few years. Nothing fancy but works well.

I know right! They're cheap and I have 2 or 3 around the garage.

+1 but they do wear out after you have guaged about 2 million tires....

Thanks for the heads-up. I've gotta start saving for a second one, then.

I have so many of those basic Milton ones from work. I've never worn one out, but they do seem to like to grow legs or occasionally I give one to a customer or co-worker lol.

I own both of the gauges shown in the links above(though I might be hard-pressed to find both at once!). Either one works fine. If anything, the white plastic background is easier to read in dim light. Take your pick, you can't go wrong.

Got mine at O'Reilly's for a few bucks. It's a Milton and it works great. They do seem to get lost pretty easy so maybe buy a spare. Keep one in each car glove box.

I just have a very inexpensive little depth gauge-probably less than a couple bucks. It works and does what it needs to do.

Those Milton tread depth gauges might be OK for a dirty handed tire buster and the rest of the unwashed masses, but not for a BITOG tire fanatic.

Nothing less than the (cheap at) $282 Starrett 3753A-6/150 Electronic Depth Gage that measures depths to 0.0005" (five ten-thousandths of an inch) will do for us.
