Silicone / PTFE Grease

Isn't PTFE/teflon a solid? As in not good for a lube?

Doesn't it have to be applied with like 800 degrees of heat? Meaning no drive shaft will ever get that high in normal ops? If so why use a teflon grease or any other teflon lube?

Ptfe functions the same way moly would. Not sure why they speficy on over the other in this application. But the xg8 grease feels much different than any grease ive seen (including stuff like super lube with ptfe)...
