Wix at O'Reilly - same as Napa Gold?

O'Reilly AP sells Wix oil filters. Are they the same ones as the Napa Gold/Wix?

If not, is the Purolator Pure One (or P+), just as good? I can easily get the O'Reilly Wix filter but not Napa's, so if O'Reilly's is different, my next choice is the Purolator.

Also is the Pep Boys Proline exactly the same as the P+?

Note that both of my vehicles are prone to ticking at startup.

Yes, all Wix branded filters are the same as Napa Gold.

I wouldn't say it's better, cept fot the up-front bypass valve. They're both excellent filters.

Proline might have different media than P+

And otherwise they're equal?


I thought some on here were saying the Proline is a P+? They do look the same to me.

The Proline has less media than the P+... otherwise the same.

Most house brand oils & filters are generally slightly weaker versions of their supplier name-brand.

I hope that's not true of the Napa Gold vs. Wix. I myself use wix, but there area a lot of members that use napa gold and think they are getting the same or better as the standard wix. Either way the wix construction is great.
