Lately I've been using Valvoline Cerulean grease in my 4x4 truck. I reapply after every offroad excursion that involves a water crossing.. Cerulean grease is targeted at the mining, agricultural, industrial market so I figure it should be able to handle whatever my Tacoma can dish out, so far so good.

There is no best.

Exercise the zerk fittings at every oil change for all your vehicles, minimally once a year.

Find a locally available grease and stick with it.

I also never have seen a problem with moly, graphite, or teflon.

stalube, m1, ams, rl, rp, valv, green, mystic.... all work just fine. Find a ngli2 grease at your local dept, hardware, or auto part stores.

OP is in NM. No need for a ngli1.5 grease, which might be better for Canadian ski trips.
