O.k., I switched to a Purolator Premium Plus yesterday w/M1 5w-30. Much less expensive, excellent flow, average filtration.

Didn't spot this earlier. Yes indeed, I was aware. Removal might become tricky, especially as it is obviously quite warm when I change it. I'll have to check it out next time I'm under it. I don't really gain much, at any rate. Thanks for thinking of us, though. Lots of GM motors do use these filters, and most of them have plenty of clearance.
