Cleaning out my grandma's house as she's been moved into nursing home facility. Found this stuff, figured I'd post it up. Might be interesting to see who recognizes any of it and maybe provide some years...just for curiosity.

Only date I've seen so far is the Preston that says "results of 1985 survey" but as far as I know they could still be using that. Then there's the mystery white bottle.

Coolant additive bottles are full but no seal. White bottle full with seal. both 2 cycle oils are full, unopened. National Dex II full and sealed.

Blows my mind how much metal we locked up in cans. I remember when gas line antifreeze was 25 cents for a plastic bottle of methanol-- that stuff was 57 cents!

Yeah plastics use oil but dang! The transportation costs on those cans...

Metal? How about glass bottles for soda?

Like the old kmart can.

Thanks for posting the pics!!

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. btdt

Yikes, that rusty can of Prestone brake fluid may be hygroscopic.

Air permeates plastic containers, not metal ones...

I still have some Atlas/ESSO Dexron ATF(pre DexII), in the 1 pt. copper cans from my DAD's ESSO/Exxon gas station from the 1970's.
