I am always interested in the rpms that an engine turns at typical highway cruising speed (70mph). I'm curious to see what others report...

My '09 Crown Victoria with the 3.27 rear axle ratio turns 2050 at 70mph.

Off topic I know, but you should try MC synthetic blend 5w-20 in the CV. We use that exclusively in our squads and change every 4K. That 4k could be 6-7k if the cars weren't idled as much and weren't doing near redline runs every day for calls.

2000 RPM's at 70 MPH in an 2002 Saturn SL2.

However, 5th gear has been swapped from a .730 to a .605,
dropping the RPM's by a thousand....

This reminds me - read an article in CarMag many years ago - great magazine, Canadian, didn't last long. Anyway, they did a road test of a Lada Niva (the little Russian 4x4) and really liked it, but did say that the 4500 RPM in top gear at 80 kph was a bit much.

2014 Jeep Patriot, 2.4L, 6 speed auto tranny: 2350 at 70mph.

FX4 = 3.73:1 gears and 6 speed trans with 20" wheels (all OEM) about 1950
Explorer = 3.390:1 gears and 6 speed trans with 20" wheels (all OEM) about 2000

1994 jeep with 4 liter engine and 4 speed tranny with overdrive turns about 2400 at that speed. Will only get 20 mpg or so while cruising at 50 mph. Goes down at higher speeds.
Harley turns about 2500 at that speed in 6th gear.
