Came across this today, and while I recognise a lot of it from my faves (Orlov doesn't get a mention, and there's pics out of his books, while Shigley does rate a mention)...anyway, in the parlance of the latest grads

"P's make degrees"

It covers the basics very well IMO (gear design a bit too much, but still interesting).
 
It is nice to glance trough a book and be able to say "I know that" many times and yes, I have seen some of the illustrations before, although the name Orlov doesn't ring a bell, Shigley brings back some memories.

Nice book thanks for posting.
 
I have a copy of Shigley. I dip into it mostly for info on gear and cam design. Some stuff on linkages, too.
