First UOA from my first diesel in the stable. BMW does 11-13K OCIs under free maintenance with Castrol SLX or Professional OE 0/30 LL04. I don't see a VoA of it but from what little i have seen its nothing remarkable. Some folks have written good things about M1 ESP thought thats tough to find on sale. I am tempted to use it once out of warranty but that will be a while as I have 7/100 extended. I likely will do 12K changes on my own until 100K, then perhaps extend to 15K. 90/10 HWY for this car. 33 average mpg with 400+ ft-lbs. Its a hoot.

Next year dealers should be changing over to a SOPUS product, so it will be interesting to see if it changes or they have a lot of old stock of Castrol as the diesels are not plentiful so I gather they don't have bulk but rather stock quarts on the shelves of LL04.

Fuel was 1% according to Blackstone.

It wouldn't surprise me if BMW still uses Castrol in diesel applications after the move to SOPUS.

But SOPUS may have a Euro LL-04 5W-30 waiting to plug into the BMW supply chain.
