The rental Ryder 2012 Isuzu NPR (16' Box Truck) 5.2L I-4 diesel. Was sitting around the other afternoon at the hotel, figured I'd make a cold start video. (Cold start in this case meaning about 65 degrees but still) About 67,500 miles on the clock. (I've put about 1,200 on it for work, and another 800 this coming week!)

Here is a follow up video of low/high idle with the cab up.

Those are fun to drive. 3K redline!

I've always thought the Canter/Fuso 3L which can be had for < 40K with rails would make a heck of an RV platform.

Thought I was the only one that enjoyed a good old cold start, i make a video every year with my truck after it sits all winter 5-6 months.

Neat.

I don't think I've ever seen a diesel NPR except in traffic. Every one I've seen in person with the cab up "got a three fiddy." Yes, GM truck 5.7 gasser. Probably made them appealing to fleets with GM vans/pickups/utility bodies.

Nick - you don't work for Time Warner any more?

I have seen a lot of them with gas engines. Once the price of diesels started to go up, it seemed a lot of them went to gas.
