Just bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251453221429...429%26_rdc%3D1

I've been needing a briefcase to carry manuscripts, in two expanding file folders, to my writers' group on Monday nights. A big plastic bag just doesn't do it. And my budget wouldn't stretch to a 1945 Army briefcase from Custom Hide, nice as those are. So vintage seemed like a good bet. The measurements look good, but I hope it's wide enough!
(If not, there are lots more vintage cases on eBay.)

Reminds me of George on Seinfeld with his briefcase and working on the file.

Hm. It worked when I tested it. Try this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251453221429?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D251453221429%26_rdc%3D1

I've never carried a briefcase.

I have a leather pouch about 10" x 15" that I carry into Court - or multiple boxes on a cart.

With all the security these days, briefcases are a PITA. Too easy to leave contraband in them ( like even a pocketknife ) when you have much bigger things on your mind.

Every day I use a shoulder-strap leather briefcase from Eddie Bauer that I bought in about 1994. It's been my regular companion ever since: It has pockets for my checkbook and a pill box, a slot for a flash drive (a technology which didn't exist when I bought the bag), etc. It would hold a laptop if necessary.

This new one will be a backup specifically to carry these scripts. I started using a big plastic bag to protect the papers from occasional rain, but it looks and is awkward.

I use Wenger brand cases. Usually the office supply stores have one model at an excellent price. I also use their laptop computer cases.

It arrived today, and holds my two expanding file folders with ease and room to spare. I'll treat it with a little leather cleaner and conditioner, and -- as someone said here on another topic -- Robert is your mother's brother!
