Exactly. He's spot on with that. Those were the days where you looked to minimize the spread when you could. 5w-30 was often seen as a winter compromise, not so much an all year oil like it is now. Nonetheless, my LTD never got any 10w-30 (only 5w-30) after it left taxi service.
