Evidently not per the AutoZone website, although STP PH2852 (another Champion filter) might work.

That seems to fit only some 1984-91 Peugeot, Caterpillar Lift Trucks, and Citroen Trucks. And there appears to be no cross-reference.

What is the application?

Or use the filter that's listed for it, or use a less esoteric oversized filter.

I'm currently using the M1-207, which is double the soup can sized standard filter (PH3593A equiv.). The 3.0L engine in this car has an oil capacity of only 4.5 qts. I'm trying to increase the volume without modifications. The larger (L34480 equiv.) filter will increase the capacity to around 5.5 qts, not to mention the other obvious benifits of a larger filter.

How are you going to fit an extra qt. of oil in a filter that's only about 2.7" longer?

Let's see:

L14459 (Baldwin B227, Fram PH3593A Equiv.)
Dia: 3.15
Ht: 2.95
Volume: .75 qts. (.025 ft3)

L34480: (Baldwin B7042 Equiv.)
Dia: 3.50
Ht: 5.45
Volume: 1.71 qts. (.057 ft3)

Simple math.

If it's so simple, why did you get it wrong?

The smaller filter holds about 12.4 oz. and the larger holds about 28.4. Then you have to subtract a bit for the "innards".

Scott, did you ever try the Baldwin B7042 or B202? If so, did they fit OK (actually spun onto the block stud with proper gasket mating)? That B7042 sounds like one heck of a filter.

I'm currently using a Mobil1 M1-207, which has the same gasket size as the B7042 (fits great), it's just not as tall. I do have a couple of B7042's on order though. I'll take some pictures and let you know how they fit when they arrive.

BTW, the M1-207 increased the oil capacity from 4.5 to 5.0 quarts....

Scott

Here's a comparison of the OEM filter size to the Baldwin B202 (the B7042 is pretty hard to find). Don't bash me for showing the Fram filter, I was a Wal-Mart and thought it would be nice to show it for size comparison. The B202 fits on my Sebring perfectly.
