Did I see that correctly? 1000 quarts of oil?

Even if you paid $1 for each one, that's $1,000 of cash tied up in inventory. Do you have an expected ROI on that stash?

If they were all FAR, then I'd see no problem in that size of a stash. Personally, my limit would be <= $0.25 a quart to have any amount of cash tied up in oil.

Wow, I thought mine was mindblowing (see sig file.)

His ROI is that he won't have to run out and pay 30 bucks for 5 quarts of oil these days "on sale".

I cleaned out three convenience stores changing ownership. I got over 170 qts. total, for $1 each. Mostly Mobil 5000 and PYB, with the occasional Gilco and Castrol mixed in. BTW, I got 30 or so Regane PEA gas additives and 5 brake fluids for 0.25c each!

Ironically, before I was the most non-hoarder ever, LOL.

From memory:

12 qts Maxlife, various weights
4 jugs and 5 qts Maxlife Nextgen, vaious weights
1 jug and five quarts Nextgen, various weights
6 qts Durablend 10W-40
2 jugs Durablend 10W-30
12 qts Meijer HM 10W-30
6 qts Syntec 5W-50
9 qts Syntec 5W-30
4 gals Delvac 1300
1 qt M1 15W-50
5 jugs + 5qts G-Oil 5W-30
2 jugs + five qts PP 5W-30
25 qts QSUD 5W-30
1 jug QSUD 0W-20
4 qts QSGB 10W-40
1 jug Defy 10W-40
4 jugs QTP 10W-30
3 jugs Ultra 5W-30
2 gals Synpower 5W-30
40 qts HGMO SM 0W-20
16 qts Amsoil 0W-20
There are probably a few I've missed.
All bought dirt cheap on clearance, BOGO, or after MIR, many FAR.

Let's see....
1/2 4L jug of Petro-Canada Duron Synthetic 0w30 & 5L jug of PP 5w20, minus the 0.7L I put in for the last OCI. An oil & air filter for the G6.

Not in fear of being labeled an oil hoarder here!

Best thing this was accomplished in about 3 hours, total. No mail in rebates to mess with, no time consuming multiple shopping trips, etc.

3 transactions, less than 3 hours total, DONE.

What is your plan to use all that up? 250 oil changes worth?

37 qts of PP
25 qts of Maxlife
10 qts of Havoline Synthetic
6 qts of Havoline Dino
7. Qts of Peak Dino
5 qts of Nextgen Synthetic.
90 qts total.

I'm out of stash. I hardly ever see clearance sales and I check a lot.

1 wix filter for Buick
2 x Fram XG 3980
4 quarts of Mobil 1 TDT 5w40 bought on clearance $2 each
1 new oem fuel filter for each car

I've got to see pics of the 1,000 quart stash.

I think just 1/2 quart of valvoline next gen 10w30.

If nothing is on sale when you need it, is that a good reason to do longer ocis?

Can I ask you guys that have massive stashes what exactly the point is? I don't have a stash, although I do wish I had maybe one shelf with some variety at all times, but what on Earth do you do with *hundreds* of quarts of oil? How can you possibly even use all of it? I mean even if you could, the API rating would be like SY by the time you were that deep into your then old SN stock and the year would be 2076.
