Filter is from my last oci i went 9.5k miles on napa synthetic 5W30 and the filter mentioned above. keep in mind i cut this filter open with a hacksaw so it was quite a challenge and alot of the debris you see are from cutting. I was buying the napa platinum when they were on sale but now i will just stick with P1 or purolator synthetic filters, because of the spring bypass valve i lose alot of media.
Enjoy

Looks to be a well made filter as you'd expect from Wix. Hard to tell by looking at pics but it seems pretty "dirty" to me too.

As always, thanks for cutting and posting!

The filter you cut open has a base end bypass in the base end cap - shown in your last photo link. The big coil spring is not associated with the bypass valve in any way.

You lose media area when the base end bypass valve assy is used in the WIX & NAPA filters.

you learn something new everyday! so what is the purpose of the coil spring? im just not a fan of how small the filter is but on the other hand i am a fan of how well built this filter is.

The big coil spring is to hold all the guts of the filter tight together inside the can.

Maybe there is an over-sized filter for the 41334 application.

ive tried to find an oversized filter with no luck. Would you happen to know what filter i could use

This is supposed to be a 15K oil filter I believe.
Do you feel it would be serviceable for that mileage?

Keep in mind that full synthetic media has a lot more "depth" and "volume" of media than a cellulose media - that's why full synthetic media can hold a lot more crud and go longer OCIs. Therefore, you can't really directly compare full synthetic media area to cellulose media area.

IMO, a filter of this size in full synthetic media is probably just fine for your specification, even more so if it's rated at 15K OCIs.

Baldwin makes some oversize filters that might fit.
Take a look at the B7390, B199, B202 and B7042.
I can and do run the B7042 on my Honda S2000 for the last 80k miles, run the filter for 15k miles.
Here are some pic's of the Honda, Wix and Baldwin filter that I run

It's a big filter but I have no idea if you have enough room for it on your car.

Other then the silicone ADBV it really looks very much like a MANN OIL FILTER.

As mentioned by Z06, this filter has dome end bypass so there's no loss of space for media as with traditional Wix/NG thread end bypass. All the Wix XP/Napa Plat. use dome bypass.

Looks like it held up well. As for the comment above about it looking like a Mann, only similarity is it uses a dome end bypass but so do many/most filters. No relation to a Mann filters at all, total Affinia/Wix construction.

Thanks for the pics.
